Preschool – Inclusion
Preschool programs that are located in a setting that includes students with and without disabilities must meet the following class size requirements:
- Class size cannot exceed 20 students with 1 licensed special educator and 1 teacher assistant and have no more than 5 students with disabilities
- If the class has 6 or 7 students with disabilities, the class size cannot exceed 15 students with 1 licensed special educator and 1 teacher assistant
Preschool – Substantially Separate
Substantially separate preschool programs serve primarily students with disabilities. Classes must meet the following standards:
- More than 50% of the students have disabilities
- Class size is limited to 9 students with 1 licensed special educator and 1 teacher assistant
