The School Council is made up of three parents, two teachers, a community member and the principal.\u00a0 Members serve a two-year term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The main areas of responsibility for School Councils, as mandated by the Education Reform Act of<\/span> 1993, are to assist the building principal in:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Identifying the educational needs of our students\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Reviewing the annual school building budget<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Formulating a school improvement plan<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In addition, the School Council is an opportunity for parents, teachers and community members to feel united and collaboratively explore issues related to the district\u2019s initiatives, the home-school relationship, student safety and school climate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The School Council meets monthly from 3:15 – 4:15 pm, dates TBD.<\/p>\n
