The Town of Wellesley continues to move forward with enhanced efforts to slow the spread of Coronavirus. The number of COVID-19 cases in Wellesley remains stable with seven positive cases identified since March 6, 2020. No additional information on these cases is available.

2020 Annual Town Meeting Postponed: The Town Moderator has postponed the 2020 Annual Town Meeting until Monday, April 27, 2020. The Special Town Meeting scheduled to take place within the Annual Town Meeting has also been postponed. Read more.

Town Closures: Effective today, March 17, 2020, Town Hall is closed to public access until further notice. Boards and committees will be moving to virtual meetings; please refer to specific agendas for information. Many department staff members are now working from home or are in the office on limited schedules, please use email or call for assistance at 781-431-1019.

Online licensing and bill payment services are available through the Town of Wellesley website, by mail or by using the drop-box in front of Town Hall.

Use of Public Lands: Please remember, and remind all family members, that all parks, playgrounds, tracks, and playing fields in Wellesley are CLOSED! New social-distancing guidance is recommending gatherings of less than ten (10) people. When outside playing, walking, exercising, walking dogs, etc. please be mindful of this information and stay 6’ away from others.

Wellesley Free Library Curbside Service: To encourage residents to remain at home, curbside service will end on Friday, March 20 at 5 p.m. Items may continue to be returned to the book drop. Library staff will continue to answer phone calls on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Late fees are suspended until the Library reopens to the public.

Wellesley Public Schools Remote Learning: The district continues to develop plans for remote learning resources and will share those details on Thursday, March 19. WPS has reached out to families to ensure Internet connectivity and an Internet device to use throughout the school closure period. Information on free Comcast resources is available on the Wellesley Public Schools website.

Wellesley Housing Authority Website: A new Housing Authority website is available for Housing Authority residents. Assistance is available for any Housing Authority resident who may be impacted by COVID-19; please contact the WHA office or email

Local Business Resources: The Town is developing resources for local businesses during the COVID-19 outbreak. Officials are working directly with merchant organizations including the Wellesley Square Merchants Association and the Chamber of Commerce. Information is available on the Town website. Additional plans will be shared in the coming days.

Town officials are aware of the many individual and grassroots efforts and offers of assistance from the community. We continue to work to provide comprehensive and cohesive plans for all residents, businesses, and employees in our community.
