Fiske Falcon

Fiske Families,

snowperson

Winter is here and some of our fifth graders in 5R made the most of what little snow we had this week. This adorable snowperson was created with materials the students found in nature. Such a happy creation!

Once again this week we as a country, and a community, have had to navigate a challenging situation happening in the news.  Visions of people storming our Nation’s Capitol are ones that will not leave us, or our children, any time soon.  As stated in the Superintendent’s letter on Wednesday, January 6th, we  encourage parents and guardians to discuss these events with your children.   Attached is the National Association of School Psychologists resource shared by  Dr. Lussier in his communication.

Please know that the Fiske teachers and staff continue to be ready to discuss these events with students during our SEL work together.  If you feel your child may need support in navigating these events then please contact your child’s teacher and/or our School Psychologist, Sharon Grossman at grossmans@wellelseyps.org .  As always, I am confident that our incredible community will weather the storm together.

Thank you to the Davies Family for providing tasty snacks for our staff. It is such a nice way to welcome the week. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Please come join our next PTO meeting on Thursday, January 14th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Zoom link will be shared by the PTO next week.

Bulletin Board

Our incredible Student Council is at it again. They are creating a bulletin board for Fiske Health and Safety Heroes. The Fiske Student Council is asking our community  to take pictures of family members and/or friends wearing masks to be placed on their bulletin board.  The Student Council  wants to celebrate our community working together to keep everyone healthy and safe.  Please send your pictures in to your child’s classroom teacher or email them to Mrs. McGregor at mcgregorr@wellesleyps.org. Thank you

The Wellesley Police Department is looking to fill three crossing guard positions. The positions require availability from  8:00-8:30 am and 3:00-3:30pm.  The positions are on Oak Street at the Sprague School,  Route 9 @ Kingsbury Street, and Weston Rd right in front of Hardy School. If you are interested please contact our school safety officer Kathy Poirier at kpoirier@wellesleyma.gov

Have a wonderful week and know that your kindness and support is truly appreciated by the Fiske Staff.
