Fiske Families,
Thank you to all the families who participated in the Wellesley Veterans’ Parade. Fiske won an award for the most creative float. The judges were impressed with the amazing t-shirts and several scooters. Thank you to Kim Ebeling, Jane Gardiner, and Armin Molavi for organizing such fun event for our children.
This Monday there will be no school in observance of Indigenous People’s Day. During our assembly on Wednesday we watched Fry Bread author Kevin Noble Maillard read his book. This lovely Native American story is written in verse and shares the traditions and history that surround the making of fry bread. The author encouraged readers to take some time this weekend to cook or bake something that reminds them of their family traditions.
Please be aware that because of the Monday holiday, COVID pool testing will take place on Friday, October 15th.
The amazing Cherry Poulicakos is at it again. Cherry is working closely with the Wellesley Recreation Center to provide after school STEAM classes for your children. The classes will be held at Fiske from 3:05-4:05 p.m. Classes include; STEAM Studio, cooking, coding and drama. Registration for these classes start on Monday, October 18th. Please see the attached document for more information. Scholarships are provided based on need.
