Dear Hunnewell,
I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather over the Labor Day Weekend. It looks like the temperatures have decided to become uncomfortably warm for the start of this school week. Yesterday morning, Nurse Finn sent a reminder to make sure everyone stayed hydrated and that the children “go easy” at recess. Early this morning, Mr. Pellegrini opened all the classroom windows and turned on the fans to cool the rooms before sunrise. The teachers will keep their classroom doors and windows open and the fans circulating the air to increase cross-ventilation. The teachers can also pull their shades to decrease the direct sun rays into the classrooms. Finally, please remember to send your child with a water bottle because we have the new water filtration bubbler that provides plenty of fresh, cool water.
Fortunately it looks like the heat will break by Thursday. It may be hard to believe now, but in a few short months we will most likely long for this warmth.
For now, it seems like the perfect week to end with the Hunnewell Ice-Cream Social. I look forward to seeing you then.
Warmly,
Ellen
