Good morning Hunnewell, I am thrilled to announce that Trudy Ludwig, advocate for children’s social-emotional learning and author of a number of high-quality picture books focused on promoting safer social-emotional school environments, will be visiting Sprague, Bates and Hunnewell in early October. The students in each of our three school communities will benefit from a K-2 or 3-5 presentation. Ms. Ludwig will also provide Professional Development to all three staffs on the afternoon of October 7th. She will address the three parent communities on the evening of October 6 from 6:30-8:00 pm in the WMS Auditorium. I am grateful to the Hunnewell PTO for partnering with the the PTOs from Bates and Sprague in order to provide such comprehensive support for our CARE values. It is quite an opportunity when students, teachers, and parents learn together, especially on a topic that is central to the work we do, raising happy, confident, kind children. It is also exciting to partner with other elementary communities in Wellesley and I will look for other opportunities for shared collaboration. Look for information on the opportunity to order her books in Hunnewell Happenings. I will be purchasing multiple copies of each title for future use in our classrooms. A flyer will be coming home in your child’s backpack next week with even more details. Meanwhile please visit her website: www.TrudyLudwig.com. Warmly, Ellen
