We are on the eve of our of our first week in the 2017-18 school year and I very much look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Halls of Hunnewell!
I am particularly excited to welcome our new staff members who spent last week at the New Teacher Orientation Training and organizing their classroom/office space at Hunnewell. I know you will all join me in extending warm welcomes to Carolyn Avery, TLC Teaching Assistant, Cristina Alvero-Sanchez, Spanish FLES Teacher, Riley Barry, Primary TLC Special Educator, Megan Cassidy, Hunnewell Psychologist, Susan Colangeli, Building Assistant, Heather Forsythe, Intermediate Special Educator, and Ryan St. Aubin, Intermediate TLC Special Educator. We are very fortunate to have these highly qualified professionals joining our team.
I also know many of you may be wondering about the search for Amy’s replacement. We all know that these are HUGE shoes to fill and I should be able to make an announcement about this new hire in the next few days. I thank Amy and Dianne Croteau for helping me interview to find the best possible secretary for all of us. In the meantime, Amy will be at Hunnewell this week. She may head over to Central Office on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon; however she will continue to support us until a new person is trained and ready to begin. I suspect our students are going to be very happy to get the chance to say good-bye and wish her well in her new role. I will keep you posted as we make our way through this transition. I thank you in advance for your patience, as we will indeed need some.
Looking forward to the Hunnewell New Family Picnic tomorrow night and the Popsicle Party on Tuesday!
