We are on the eve of the 2018-19 school year!
After a quiet summer of hard work by our custodians, Larry and Tom, and our secretary, Kristyn Chin, it is great to see the building come back to life. The teachers consistently began arriving last week to ready their classrooms, and today I thoroughly enjoyed welcoming our new kindergartners (the class of 2031) and connecting with our veteran first graders, as they visited their new classrooms. I do believe we are ready for take-off!
The staff and I look forward to welcoming you back to the Halls of Hunnewell! I am honored to serve as this principal of a school that values collaboration and teamwork. I know we have some maternity leaves on the horizon and a fifth grade teacher out for the start of the year with a broken ankle, and I am sure that might cause some anxiousness for parents of children in those classrooms. Trust me when I tell you, I have seen this staff come together and genuinely offer whatever they and can to provide continuity and consistency for all of your children and to support their colleagues. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Hunnewell is a great place to grow up!” We have an amazing staff that is wholeheartedly committed to social, emotional, and academic success of your children.
Please remember to send your children with a water bottle tomorrow! It is supposed to be hot and we will make every effort to make sure your child/ren stay cool and hydrated!
It is a Wednesday, so blue and orange, our school colors are always welcome!
Remember to have your phones and cameras for quick photo ops, as you are all welcome into the school until around 8:40-8:45.
Thank you for all you do to support our community! If you are new to Hunnewell remember that you are automatically a member of the Hunnewell PTO. Please check the Hunnewell Happenings for PTO updates. Let Kristyn Chin know if you are not receiving Hunnewell Happenings and she will get you connected.
See you tomorrow!
