Londyn Johnson, a first grader in 1S, stepped off the stage after singing her heart out and declared with pride and joy, “I did it!” Those three simple words were packed with courage, accomplishment, and confidence that comes from taking a leap and discovering your own strength.

Moments like these remind us that while our school is dedicated to reading, writing, and arithmetic, it is also a place where students grow in self-awareness, build resilience, and develop the belief that they are capable of achieving great things. Yes, we teach academics, but we also nurture the intangible yet transformative skills that come from experiences like standing on a stage, presenting a project, or raising a hand to ask a question. These small, everyday victories lay the foundation for confidence and a mindset of “I did it, and I can do more.”

Singing at the assembly was more than a performance; it was a personal milestone—a moment of growth that will encourage others to take on new challenges. Londyn’s words resonated with all of us as a reminder that each child at Hunnewell is on their own journey of discovery. These journeys are filled with moments, big and small, that shape who they are and who they will become. Also a big “SHOUT OUT” goes to Juliet (5E) Ellie, Leila, Emma, Avery (5H), Sonia, and Lennox (4C ) for providing us with some excellent entertainment.

As parents and educators, we have the privilege of guiding and supporting our children as they navigate this journey. Let’s celebrate their achievements, however small they may seem, and continue to create spaces where they feel safe to take risks, try new things, and, when the moment calls for it, step off their own “stage” and proudly say, “I did it!”

Thank you for your partnership in fostering a community that values not only academic success but also the growth of the whole child. Together, we are helping to instill in our students the confidence, self-awareness, and attitude that will empower them to face the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Dare to Dream,

Mr. Dees

From Nurse Costello

Dear 4th Grade Parents/Guardians

I’m required to collect an updated physical exam during the 4th grade school year. If you have not already done so, please upload a current physical exam into the SNAP Health Portal or drop off a paper copy. A physical exam dated from January 1, 2024 – March 2025 will meet this requirement.
