One of the most important skills we can nurture in children is <em>resilience<\/em>\u2014the ability to bounce back from challenges, adapt to change, and keep moving forward with confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Here are a few simple ways you can help build resilience at home:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"line-height:normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Encourage problem-solving:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\"> When your child faces a challenge, resist the urge to fix it immediately. Instead, ask questions that guide them toward finding their solution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height:normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Normalize mistakes:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\"> Help your child understand that mistakes are a natural and valuable part of learning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height:normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Promote positive self-talk:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\"> Teach your child to notice negative thoughts and reframe them with a more encouraging, hopeful message.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height:normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Establish routines:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\"> Predictable daily routines help children feel safe and in control, especially during uncertain times.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height:normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Model resilience:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\"> Let your child see how you handle setbacks with perseverance and a calm attitude.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"line-height:normal;\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">Building resilience not only supports academic success but it also helps children navigate friendships, cope with disappointment, and face new situations with courage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">As a reminder<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,serif;\">, school will be closed on <strong>Monday, March 31, in honor of Eid al-Fitr<\/strong>, marking one of several school holidays this academic year in recognition of religious and cultural observances. Many families in our community observe Eid al-Fitr, one of Islam&#8217;s two canonical festivals.
