Dr. Lilit Muradyan
Dr. Lilit Muradyan, originally from Armenia, began playing violin at the age of 8 at the Tchaikovsky Specialized Music School in Yerevan. Subsequently, she completed her Bachelor of Music at the Yerevan State Conservatory and moved to the US to continue her studies at Miami University of Ohio, with Mary E. M. Harris. She also holds a DMA from Boston University where she studied under the guidance of Michelle LaCourse. She has participated extensively in orchestral tours throughout Armenia, Canada, Germany, Luxemburg and Austria. She has performed in master classes with such accomplished musicians as Donald McInnes, Terence Helmer and Jeffrey Irvine. As a versatile orchestra and chamber musician Lilit has performed regularly with the Cape Cod Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, Plymouth Philharmonic, Boston Modern Orchestra Project and many others. Also an active teacher, Lilit holds a certificate in Suzuki training and is currently on the string faculties of the Wellesley and Arlington school districts.
Lilit is also the violist of the New England String quartet. Having made their debut at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, the group is featured in concert series across New England including 3rd Sundays @ 3, Menotomy, Bach’s Lunch, Parma Music Festival, and the Chromatic Club of Boston. The quartet has also been featured on four albums released by the Navona Records label. In 2012 NESQ became the ensemble-in-residence at Harvard University’s Dudley House and actively participates in community outreach and music education programs presenting performances, chamber music coaching, and lectures.
