June 11, 2021

Dear RLS Students and Families,

I am feeling exceptionally grateful to have been a part of the many celebrations that took place this last week and to witness the appreciation that was shared. Students were acknowledging the efforts of their teachers and expressing thanks for their kindness, thoughtfulness, and dedication.  Colleagues were thanking one another for their contributions to planning and executing successful events, such as the Wellesley High School Graduation and our Elementary and Middle School Community Days.  The positive words and actions of the members of our WPS and RLS communities have filled my bucket this week!

It is clear based on the joy and confidence displayed in our talent shows, the detail and skill illustrated in our paint sessions, the kudos and appreciation shared in our breakout room conversations, and the applause and acknowledgments made during our community meetings that endless lessons were learned this year by our students in RLS.  Additionally, it was impressive to hear students reflect on the skills that they learned throughout their RLS experience: to be resilient, flexible, and understanding.  Our RLS educators have done phenomenal work, and I would like to thank them for the commitment, intelligence, care, innovation, effort, and creativity that they brought to their screens each school day.  If you would like to share an end of the year “thank you” or “note of appreciation” with one of our RLS teachers, please complete this form, and I will pass along your words.

As we prepare to wrap up this school year, I also want to thank all of you for the positive contributions you have made to our RLS community.  Only with your assistance at home were we able to ensure a successful experience for our Remote Learning School students.  I thank Mr. LaCava for all of his efforts to get RLS up and running, and I thank you for support from the moment I joined the RLS community.  It has been a  privilege to serve you and your students.

Best,

Nora
