Hello Upham Community,

We are swiftly approaching the home stretch. We still have many exciting things to learn and do before the summer break. The weather has been very cooperative and “spring fever” is at an all time high. I want to thank Kristen, Missy, Burke, Sarah, and especially Karla for their tireless efforts centered on Upham’s Variety Night. I am always amazed at the high level of talent this small school possesses. I am even more impressed with the courage each student has in order to overcome their fear of performing in front of their peers. What a wonderful skill to perfect.

A big “Thank You” goes out to the PTO for their support of the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Each year this is a wonderful recognition for all of the inspiring work our teachers perform for your children. Thank you Upham PTO and Thank you Upham teachers for your commitment and tireless work.

Thank you Christine Mizzi for your work on the Green Team. Although we had Green Week during our MCAS testing window, Upham continues to lead in the area of renew, reuse, and recycle. Christine and Heather Schaefer have been taking the lead in the cafeteria as well. They have fought the “good” fight so that we are more trash conscious. We are now fully recycling during our lunch/recess time.

During my tenure at Upham the PTO Executive Board has been fantastic. They are a vital key to the success of this school. As a reminder please cast your vote for the proposed 2016-17 PTO Officer Board. It takes less than a minute!
