Dear Colleagues,

I hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving break. We have been tracking the storm closely throughout the weekend and the latest forecasts are for 4-6 inches of snow overnight, followed by rain in the morning, which will then turn to snow again in the afternoon.

With everyone’s safety in mind and bearing in mind the likely impact of the storm on our speakers and attendees, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s Professional Day. We are disappointed knowing how much time and effort has gone into the planning of this day and the important diversity, equity, and inclusion topics that framed the program.

We are also working with Dr. Dena Simmons to find an alternative date for her to come to Wellesley and we will keep you posted on next steps.

In the meantime, thank you to the many staff who had prepared learning sessions and to the Office of Teaching and Learning for their work on logistics. We look forward to future opportunities when we can share this important work with each other.

All WPS buildings will be closed tomorrow, December 2nd, and no staff should report to their schools.  This will allow the DPW to plow and sand our parking lots throughout the day to give us the best chance for an on-time start on Tuesday morning. Please stay safe tomorrow.
