Dear Upham Community,

The earlier communication sent to the Wellesley community was news that was both disappointing and unsettling.  However, we are grateful for the many systems that have been and continue to be present in all Wellesley Public Schools, including voluntary surveillance testing of staff and middle and high school students and the health and safety protocols that allow us to maintain a healthy environment.  As a result of the surveillance testing procedures, the district was able to determine and quickly isolate identified cases in order to deter further spread.  Furthermore, the swift decision to move to a remote environment at the high school also mitigates further transmission.

Please know that all schools continue to be prudent with practices, protocols, and cleaning systems in order to ensure a healthy environment.  While Wellesley High School moves to a remote environment for safety purposes, please note that all other Wellesley schools are open, as there is no evidence of identified cases present, for which we are grateful.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Mr. Dees
