Junior Boat Cruise, Friday, May 13 – Tickets Available Online Only

May 4, 2016Dear Parent/Guardian and Members of the Class of 2017,We are looking forward to the junior end-of-the-year activity; the Odyssey Cruise. All of us are excited about the wonderful food, great dancing and balmy breezes as we cruise Boston Harbor on Friday night, May 13th. This event is the highlight of the junior year.Tickets are $35 and will be sold through Friday, May 5th. The ticket price includes the boat cruise ticket, dinner, dancing and the bus ride to and from Boston for the boat cruise. The tickets will be sold through the high school online fee payment portal this year, once you log in please select HS/MS Activity Fees , click here to the link to the portal. We spoke directly to the class about our expectations for the cruise at their class meeting this week. There is to be no drinking before, at, or during the cruise, breathalyzers will be used. In addition, the Odyssey security will check each student as they board the ship. Should a student violate the rule, parents will be contacted immediately and asked to pick up their child.  S/he will not be able to attend the next school activity. If the next school event is a class end-of-the-year activity, (i.e. senior prom, if invited) the student will not be allowed to attend. If there are no more dances/events held this school year, the penalty will apply for an event in the following school year 2016-2017, in accordance with the agreement that both students and parents signed at the beginning of the year. The student may also be suspended for 5 days; and athletes, in or out of season, will be excluded from athletic games in accordance with the MIAA rule. It is important for you to talk with your son or daughter about your expectations for his/her behavior.Students must attend all their classes on May 13th in order to attend this class event. There are no guests or dates for this events, and dress is semi-formal, no jeans (shoes must be worn at all times). All students will be bussed from the high school at 5:30 p.m. and return to the high school at approximately 11:45 p.m. The Odyssey cruise is truly the beginning of the senior year, a time when these students will be major leaders in the school community.  It is an opportunity for them to set the positive, productive tone all of us want to mark the 2016-2017 school year.We are looking forward to a great event!
