Ms. Sannicandro’s Scrapbook

The outpouring of student and family support for the loss of our dear Rosanne Sanicanndro has been incredibly appreciated. We are in the process of putting together a scrapbook for her family that shows how much she truly meant to our community for 30 years. If you would like to share a kind thought, card or memory, please email Diane Zinck as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Cradles to Crayons will be holding its 11th annual Wellesley Community Drive this year. Wellesley High School will be working specifically to collect new or gently used coats for children ages 0-14. We will be collecting for two weeks this year between October 24th and November 4th. There will be a collection box located outside of the main office.

Please join us at the community wide sort, where all the donations from the whole community come together to be sorted and sent off by volunteers, on Saturday November 4th from 9:30 to 11:30 at the PepsiCo Pavilion at Babson College 231 Forest Street Wellesley, MA 02457. Sign up to volunteer at https://cradlestocrayons.org/event/wellesley-community-drive/.

The Cradles to Crayons model works to provide children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. Cradles to Crayons supplies these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need. In 2015, the Wellesley Drive and Sorting Day helped +1,000 kids in Massachusetts and with the help of the Wellesley High School community we are looking to improve upon this number for 2016.

This year we will also be hosting an event at CycleBar on Thursday November 3rd at 7:00pm. We know that not everyone still has actual coats to donate, so this is an opportunity to donate in another way. Each rider will pay a $15 fee for the 50-minute ride. 100% of the proceeds for the ride will go towards getting coats for Cradles to Crayons to distribute.

Please consider coming to this event, alone or with friends and family, the $15 and 50 minutes of your night will provide a child in need living in our community with a coat to get them through the winter. This event will be open to students, teachers and faculty, coaches, parents, and siblings, so tell anyone you know who may be interested and help to make this a great event and a successful drive. Sign up for the CycleBar event at http://wellesley.cyclebar.com/apps/mindbody/classes/335.
