|Graduation – Answers to Questions
Greetings Graduate Families,
We are looking forward to a very exciting commencement ceremony tomorrow, hopefully this email will alleviate most of the questions you may have.
Please pay close attention to the following instructions if our event is outside.
Commencement on Hunnewell Field
This year, we have a brand new track and turf field to host our ceremony. Please pay close attention to the following requirements.
Flat and wedge heel shoes only (parents, faculty and graduates) – sharp and pointed heels on shoes will puncture the track and turf. Thank you for your cooperation.
No seat saving – last year many parents were unable to find a seat in the bleachers because there were so many blankets and saver markers, please be considerate to fellow classmates’ family members. The field opens at 4:00 p.m
Drop off for elderly family members – there will be a police officer at the State Street Service Road who will direct you up the road where you can drop off family members. There is no parking in this area.
How/ When will I know where Graduation will be?
We will announce where graduation will take place by 9:00 a.m. on Friday (tomorrow) at the latest. We will post this on the front page of the high school website and email home. We understand the need of this to be known as soon as possible, Mother Nature is unpredictable and we appreciate your patience until we notify you.
How many tickets do I get for indoor graduation?
In total, each graduate will get 7 tickets.
- Gymnasium – 3 Tickets (graduation takes place in the gymnasium).
There will be bleacher sitting, entrance will be through the front main door, not Rice Street Entrance. There is an elevator on the first floor for those who need assistance.
The auditorium and the cafeteria will have a live simulcast of the ceremony.
Where do I get the tickets?
Graduates will be handed their tickets at graduation rehearsal on Friday morning with their cap and gown. The tickets will be color coded by the area to which they grant access. Ask your student for the tickets after they return from rehearsal.
What time will the school be open for general seating to begin?
The gym, auditorium and cafeteria will be open for general seating at 4 p.m. The ceremony begins promptly at 5:00 p.m. The Wellesley Police and faculty members will be collecting your tickets.
Parking is limited, you may drop off elderly family members at the front entrance.
