Greetings Graduate Families,

We are looking forward to a very exciting commencement ceremony on Friday evening June 7th.  

We hope this email will alleviate most of the questions you may have.

How/ When will I know where Graduation will be?

We understand the need of this to be known as soon as possible, we appreciate your patience until we decide.  We will announce by 9:00 a.m. on Friday (June 7th) at the latest.  We will post this on the front page of the high school website, tell the students during rehearsal and email home.   

Where do I park?

You may drop family members who require assistance at the front entrance on 50 Rice Street.  There will be satellite parking at the Middle School lot on Donizetti Street – shuttle buses will be looping every 15 minutes beginning at 3:30 till 4:30 and when the ceremony ends to take you back to your vehicle.   

Commencement on Hunnewell Field – 50 Rice Street (if the event is outside)

Flat and wedge heel shoes only (parents, faculty, and graduates) – sharp and pointed heels on shoes will puncture the track and turf.  No exceptions, we thank you for your cooperation.

No seat saving – The field opens at 4:00 p.m. There is no seat saving (blankets, saver markers) on the bleachers, please be considerate to fellow classmates’ family members. 

Drop off for family members who require assistance –  there will be a police officer at the State Street Service Road who will direct you up the road where you can drop off family members.  There is no parking in this area.

How many tickets do I get for indoor graduation?

In total, each graduate is hand delivered the following color-coded ticket allotment.

  • Gymnasium – 3 Tickets (graduation takes place in the gymnasium).

There will be bleacher seating, entrance will be through the front main door, not Rice Street Entrance.  There is an elevator on the first floor for those who need assistance.

The auditorium and the cafeteria will have a live simulcast of the ceremony.

  • Auditorium – 2 Tickets – Entrance will be through the front main entrance door.
  • Cafeteria – 2 Tickets – Entrance will be through the front main entrance door.

Where do I get the tickets?

​Graduates will be handed their tickets at graduation rehearsal on Friday morning with their cap and gown.  The tickets will be color-coded by the area to which they grant access.  Ask your student for the tickets after they return from rehearsal.

What time will the school be open for general seating to begin?

The gym, auditorium, and cafeteria will be open for general seating at 4 p.m.  The ceremony begins promptly at 5:00 p.m.  The Wellesley Police and faculty members will be collecting your tickets.

Length of Ceremony
We anticipate being finished between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. There are 385 graduates this year.
