8 March 2022

Good Morning Students and Families/Guardians,

Today Powerschool will open for student access to the course selection process. Powerschool will remain open until March 17th. During this window, students should review their teacher recommendations, add their elective requests, and, if necessary, complete a level change form if they wish to change a teacher recommendation. Once this is complete, students should complete the course verification form. This indicates a guardian has viewed and confirmed the student’s course selection. Information and forms about course selection can be found in the Program of Studies and in Canvas for your guidance seminar. If you have questions or need support, please reach out to your School Counselor.

Please know, there is no advantage to entering your request early. This is not a first come, first serve process. We encourage students to be thoughtful about their course selection. They should use this time to consult with their teachers and school counselor, if need be.

Students who do not wish to take a course that was recommended for you or wish to change to a different course that is at the same level you were recommended for, please notify your school counselor.

Teacher recommendations for World Languages are not automatically changed to requests as they are for other subjects. If a student wants to continue with World Language, they need to select the World Language course their teacher recommended  and add it to their course requests.

Please remember that in order to be fully enrolled, students must select to be enrolled in at least 34 course credits

Finally, for those students wanting to better understand the difference between AP US History & Honors US History, the information session is today, Tuesday March 8th, after school in Room 316.
