Intramurals start today. \u00a0Basketball will be in Gym A and the Fitness Center is open to 7th and 8th graders only at this time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Yearbook club is meeting today after school in Room 204A. Please see the Club\u2019s Google Classroom for more details.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be an informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday for WMS girls in all grades interested in playing on the WMS ice hockey team this winter. The meeting will begin at 2:45 pm in the Cafeteria.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week’s library question of the week is: \u201cWhat is the name of the Native woman who was the first to be accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials?\u201d HINT: you’ll find clues inside the library! Make sure to submit your answer by scanning the \u00a0QR code outside the library bulletin board for a chance to win a prize!<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating this week? Today there are two major harvest\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

holidays that people will be celebrating:the Mid-Autumn festival in China, East and South-East Asia, and Chuseok in Korea<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The mid-autumn festival, or Moon Festival, is a family-centered holiday celebrating togetherness and a good harvest. Moon cakes are foods often eaten at this festival. Chuseok is the harvest festival that also honors and celebrates\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

deceased ancestors.\u00a0<\/span>Tonight also begins the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.<\/span>\u00a0Sukkot is the week-long Harvest Festival that celebrates the gathering of the harvest. It also commemorates the protection provided for the children of Israel when they left Egypt.\u00a0<\/span>We wish all people at WMS observing these holidays, a happy Mid-Autumn Festival, happy Chuseok, and happy Sukkot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today. \u00a0The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.<\/span><\/p>\n
