The answer to yesterday\u2019s Black History Month trivia question: What did singer, Mahalia Jackson, yell to Martin Luther King Jr. during his March on Washington Speech is\u2026 \u201cTell them about the Dream, Martin!\u201d It eventually led to the most famous part of his \u201cI Have a Dream\u201d speech in 1963. Today’s question is \u201c<\/span>Which singer is remembered as the \u2018queen of jazz\u2019?”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>If you think you know the answer, come down to the Main Office to make your guess.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are looking for student designs for our Grades 6 and 7 Mini Marathon t-shirts and Grade 8 end-of-year activities. Please submit a design on an 8-\u00bd\u201d by 11\u201d sheet of paper to the\u00a0<\/span>Main Office no later than Friday, March 13. If you have questions please speak with your Art teacher or the Main Office staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Science Olympiad practice this week is rescheduled for today after school in the Makerspaces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

8th grade tutoring for students in Ms. Moore’s tutoring program is canceled today after school, but will resume next Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Today, we are officially starting our Universal Bathroom Pass System. All students in the hallways are expected to have a lanyard or pink pass. If there are any special circumstances, a staff member needs to notify the Main Office in advance. For all students, please know that it will be common practice for the adults in the building to ask you to see a pass, so please respond respectfully. Our goal is to increase your time on learning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today. \u00a0The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.<\/span><\/p>\n
