Wellesley High School students have a broadcasting studio with designated area for 18 video editing stations, a control room, and a studio to film the school’s weekly announcements. Students learn to film with video cameras, edit video clips using Adobe Premiere Pro and create public service announcements, news stories and short movies. There are multiple levels of TV/Video including intro, intermediate, advanced and intensive. Students will learn proper video techniques & composition, plus basics of editing. Students also learn to experiment with many different roles in the production process from director to talent and learn to use equipment in the control room and broadcast studio. As students progress they will also learn advanced editing techniques in Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Projects students work on vary from videos for the weekly announcements, capturing sporting events, performing arts events, in-school assemblies, after school meetings and/or class discussions for the school community.
