Mick Lewander
Biography
Mick Lewander is a top teacher and performer in the Greater Boston area and has been teaching in the Wellesley Public Schools Music Extension program since 1994. He’s a former faculty member of Berklee College of Music and has performed extensively both locally and internationally.
Mick has toured South America and Mexico with the show “Ain’t Misbehavin'” and has performed in many other professional productions ranging from The Who’s “Tommy” to “Chicago”. He can be heard on CD recordings by singers Valerie Sneade (Let Me Be Strong), and John O’Neill (‘So Kaye: The Songs of Danny Kaye). Mick has performed with nationally known artists including Livingston Taylor, Sid Caesar, and JoAnne Worley.
Mick enjoys teaching students of all levels, beginners through advanced. He finds it very satisfying to witness a beginner discovering their talents for the first time as well as to coach more advanced students in the refinement of their skills. He’s been teaching for many years and consequently can tailor lessons to each student’s needs and learning styles.
He strives to make the lessons both fun and informative. He uses both method books and recordings to help students apply their skills and strengthen their music reading skills.
