Biography

Angela Longo received her Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from The Boston Conservatory of Music, and her Master of Music degree in Performance from The New England Conservatory of Music. A Young Artist competition winner, she was a soloist with both The Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra. Angela served on the board of directors for the Boston based Pappoutsakis Flute Competition for eight years, and has been an adjudicator for both the junior and senior MMEA festivals, and The Greater Boston Flute Association Solo and Ensemble Day. She has performed with The Boston Philharmonic,Boston Civic,Concord,Greater Milford and Indian Hill orchestras, and freelances in the Worcester/Metro-west areas.
Angela has previously served as a flute instructor for the Newton,Foxboro,Medford and Northboro-Southboro schools,and at The Joy of Music School in Worcester. A member of the Wellesley Extension Program for thirty years, she is also on the faculty at the Dana Hall School of Music as a private instructor, chamber music coach, and the director of flute ensembles. She teaches early childhood music and movement at the Cottage Children’s Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
