Dear Families of P.A.W.S.,

As the new Director of Early Childhood, I am thrilled to be joining the caring and dedicated teachers and staff of P.A.W.S. in welcoming you to the 2014-2015 school year!   This summer, I have been working closely with Gretchen Bravacos to learn about the wonderful preschool programs at P.A.W.S., and to ensure a smooth transition.  I thank her for her support and guidance as I learn about the amazing school she has established.

In the weeks during the summer program, I meet with and have spoken to various teachers, staff members, parents and children.  I have enjoyed learning about what makes the P.A.W.S. so special!  I am impressed with what I have seen so far and am delighted to be here!

I am excited to meet you and your child if I have not already done so. I look forward to working together in the weeks and months ahead to ensure your child’s preschool days are filled with valuable learning opportunities, fun, friendship, and growth.  I believe that a strong family and school relationship is best for children and I welcome and encourage you to reach out, to say hello, ask questions, and share comments or concerns via email, notes, phone calls or in person.  I look forward to working together to build upon the successes that are abundantly apparent at P.A.W.S., and to make adjustments as needed.

As the first day of school quickly approaches please begin to discuss the start of school with your child. I encourage you to express positive attitudes when preparing your preschool child for school. Children can be very perceptive and can read and/or understand the emotions of the adults in their lives.  They very often will adopt their expectations and reactions from us. You have been your child’s very first teacher and he/she will follow your lead. We will take excellent care of your child. With your enthusiasm and support, the days your child spends at the P.A.W.S. preschool will hold some of the most wonderful and happy childhood memories, as well as exceptional learning experiences.

Below you will find the Open House Schedule as well as a checklist of things that need to be brought in for Open House or on the first day of school. Please take some time to review this information. The teachers will review details about individual classrooms during your Open House visit.

I look forward to meeting you at the P.A.W.S. Open House on August 29, 2014 and to working with you and your child throughout the school year!

Sincerely,

Rebecca Zieminski
