Dear P.A.W.S. Families,
P.A.W.S. Helping Hands Program
We understand how challenging this year has been for so many families. In the spirit of kindness and giving, we are holding our annual Helping Hands Program at the preschool. I hope that with a little help from our friends, we can make something difficult a little easier for those in need at this time. This year our Helping Hands Program will be held virtually. If you need a helping hand or if you can lend a helping hand, please read more in the link below and reach out to us at any time if we can help. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m8ssnM-Ja2w9e-O407tg2DDDx8Lu-nccv1t36mV3Igs/edit?usp=sharing
Dressing for the Weather
Please remember to dress your child for the weather with layers of clothing. On cooler or cold days please be sure your child has: pants, shirt, sweater/sweatshirt, jacket/coat, warm boots or shoes and socks, and mittens/gloves and a hood/hat. On the rainy days please be sure to send them in their rain boots and rain suits, and on snowy days send in their snow boots and snow suits. Be sure to label each item with your child’s name. We want the children to be dressed for all weather so they can stay healthy, enjoy their time eating, playing and having fun outside for as long as possible!
Thanksgiving Holiday
The nurses have put together a great deal of information regarding Thanksgiving, travel, and family celebrations and safety. Nursing Website – Thanksgiving Safety
A Note from Nurse Zinta
Please review Thanksgiving information. Take your pick – WPS Nursing (cool graphics), Massachusetts Dept of Public Health or the CDC. The two best tips I’ve read are to have conversations about expectations of celebrating together BEFORE Thanksgiving and to make new traditions for this unusual year. Here is a great 5 minute listen or read about this topic from a chef on WBUR “My wish is that next year I am seated at a long table with my daughters (and their husband/partners) and extended family and friends. My wish is that we all get through this holiday time finding some spark of joy, some way to express gratitude and thanks.”
Travel
As of 12:01am on November 21st, the only states that will not be considered high risk will be Hawaii and Vermont. At this point, travel within Massachusetts can also be considered high risk. Let’s do our civic duty and abide by recommendations to keep us all safe.
Thank You
Thank you to the Wang Family for providing us with the PAWS Staff Snacks this week! The teachers have been enjoying your individually wrapped goodies. Thank you for your kindness!
I am sending an additional thank you to all of our P.A.W.S. families for your continued positive support of the P.A.W.S. faculty and staff. Thank you for keeping your children home when they are sniffling, sneezing or coughing and for working with us to keep our little P.A.W.S. community safe and healthy!
Wishing you all the best for a healthy and happy weekend.
Sincerely,
‘Becca Z.
