December 11, 2020
Dear PAWS Families,
We are grateful for each day we can be in school with the children guiding their learning and supporting their growth and development of skills. We are all doing well at PAWS successfully wearing our masks, washing our hands and social distancing. Even with all of the safety precautions we have in place, we understand that some families may experience concerns about being in school from time to time.
We love having the children in school with us and we understand that each family will make decisions that they feel will best meet their family’s changing needs. With Covid numbers increasing in some areas, some families might decide to keep their children at home and not send them into school on a given day.
If you decide not to send your child to school on a given day, we are not able to honor requests to conduct live Zoom sessions in the preschool and the teachers are not able to send home individual sets of lessons for your child. The teachers are fully focused on teaching the children in their classrooms each day and are preparing full sets of differentiated lessons for them. We will warmly welcome your child back to in-person school when you feel ready to send them.
If your child needs to stay home due to quarantine restrictions, please reach out to your child’s teacher, the school nurse or to me. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Reminders:
We have noticed we need to send a reminder about the Massachusetts Car Seat Laws and Mask Wearing Requirements:
-
Car Seat Safety All children need to remain seated and buckled in their carseats at all times while in a moving car. This includes while in the car line. Please wait to unbuckle your child. It is unsafe to unbuckle your child while the car is moving. More information can be found HERE: Massachusetts Car Seat Laws 2020: How To Be A Responsible Parent? (https://www.800bucklup.org/car-seat-laws/massachusetts/) If you need support in helping your child use their car seat, we will be glad to provide support to you in following this important safety measure.
-
WEAR YOUR MASK: Please remember to wear your mask at drop off and pick up both when you are driving in the car line as well as when you are walking to school. MASK UP MA! (https://www.mass.gov/news/mask-up-ma)
-
Influenza Immunization Documentation Send your child’s updated immunization documentation to Nurse Zinta (gulensg@wellesleyps.org) if you have not yet done so. Thank you to all who have sent in your documentation.

Helping Hands
Thank you to all of our families who have donated to the PAWS Helping Hands Project this year. Your generosity has been heart warming and very kind!
