Dear PAWS Families,
What beautiful weather we had at school yesterday! The children were outside running and playing and laughing! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the warm weather together!
Car Line Safety Reminder: Please remember to put your car in park and turn it off in the car line. Wellesley is a No-Idle district. Also, be sure your child is safely buckled in their carseat at all times your car is on. Please remind all caregivers: your nanny, grandparents, aunt, uncles, friends and neighbors. Thank you for staying alert and safe!
Parent/Teacher Conferences – March 29 & 30 and April 6, 2022
We are very excited to be able to offer parent/teacher conferences in person or via Zoom. Your child’s classroom teacher will be sending a sign-up sheet for you to select a time for a conference. You may specify if in-person, zoom or phone call is preferred. No matter how you decide to connect with your child’s teacher, be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to have a wonderful update!
Tuesday, March 29 – Early Dismissal Day for Parent/Teacher Conferences. All classes will dismiss at 11:30 am due to the Tuesday conferences.
Wednesday, March 30 – Parent/Teacher Conferences – Regular dismissal times
Wednesday, April 6 – Parent/Teacher Conferences – Regular dismissal times
Transition to Kindergarten Meetings
Each year at PAWS we host a meeting for families interested in learning about the transition from preschool to kindergarten.
One transition meeting will be a general education overview of the transition into kindergarten for all families, and that will be held on April 11, 2022. The other meeting on April 7, 2022, will have the same general education content as the April 11th meeting, but/and it will also have the additional special education information that will be most helpful for families with a child who has an Individual Educational Program (IEP). All are welcome to attend both meetings, but that is not necessary. If you are not sure which meeting would be most helpful for you to attend, please contact your child’s classroom teacher or feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you to the Singhal Family for sharing and teaching about their family tradition of Holi with the children in the PK3 classroom. Thank you for the special festive treats you brought for the teachers to enjoy in the staff room! We welcome and encourage all families to reach out to their child’s classroom teacher to talk about planning a time for you to come in (either in person or via Zoom) to share one of your family traditions! Every family has traditions and sharing them with each other enriches the learning experiences for all students.
Thank you to the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF) for supporting a grant that brought children’s author Grace Lin to PAWS this week! The children enjoyed meeting Grace Lin via Zoom, heard her read the book A Big Mooncake for Little Star, had a drawing lesson, and a question and answer session with Grace Lin! The link attached is of Grace Lin reading her book (to a different organization) but is very close to the reading our students enjoyed! You might enjoy watching it with your preschooler.
