Dear Parents and Guardians,
My feelings are filled with excitement and joy and the building is buzzing with energy! I hope you are feeling the love and excitement from home.
This week we finished up the first three days for new teachers/staff! Everyone is very excited and working at putting the finishing touches on rooms.
On Wednesday, August 21, you should have received a letter from your main classroom teacher. This letter should have included links for arrival and dismissal, absence reporting, a picture release form, and possibly a sign up for Listening Conferences. Listening or ‘Getting to Know You’ conferences are a quick ten minute conversation with the caregiver so the teachers can gain a better picture of your child.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at orientation next week. If possible please leave siblings at home in order for everyone to focus on the preschoolers.
PTO will have a short video on your orientation day and I encourage everyone to reach out and get involved!
A few ideas to get your children ready-
*If your nighttime routine is different in the summer, you could start now to transition back to the school-days nighttime routine
*If your child gets to sleep in a bit in the summer, start waking them a little earlier
*Reduce screen time now so the children are ready for less of it as they return
*Practice opening and closing the containers or food items you will send in
*Practice throwing trash away
We will work with your child on some of these things but sometimes parents want to know what they can do to prepare for school.
Please have a restful couple of days.
