Dear Parents of Students in Grades 3, 4 and 5:
In April and May students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will take the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System, or MCAS tests. All students will take the tests using an online format with iPads. In the next week students will begin practicing with the online format. These practice sessions are just one of the many ways we prepare students for the MCAS tests.
Below are the dates for each of the tests. As in the past, students will be offered the chance to start each morning with movement and fun during “MCAS Bootcamp” in the gym with Mrs. Fyvie. I will provide further details about Bootcamp and testing in the next few weeks.
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary Education provides several resources for parents and guardians about the MCAS which you can read here. If you have any questions about the MCAS, please reach out to your child’s teacher or me.
