Dear Bates Families,
As we wind down the school year our days are busy enjoying many special end-of-year activities as well as planning for next year. This email includes information about upcoming events as well as class configurations for next year.
Upcoming Events
Tuesday, June 4: Field Day
Many parent volunteers are needed to help make Field Day a success. We ask that parents refrain from coming to observe Field Day but rather to join in the fun!
Wednesday, June 5 from 6-8 p.m. PTO Family Picnic on the field
Wednesday, June 12: Full day of school
Thursday, June 13: 5:30 p.m. Fond Farewell Ceremony for the Fifth Graders in the gym
Friday, June 14: Early Dismissal for all students
Friday, June 14 at 11:57 a.m. Fifth Grade Clap Out
Parents are invited to take part in the tradition of the “clap out” for our fifth graders on the last day of school. The whole school lines the halls, clapping and cheering as our fifth graders make their way through the school. Parents are asked to line the front sidewalk to cheer for students as they exit the building.
As we look toward next year, I would like to share the following plans for class configurations. Please note that due to enrollment, next year’s kindergarten class at Bates will have two sections. All other grades will have three sections.
