Exciting news! Bates has a new Katharine Lee Bates sign in the front of the school. Thank you to the Rockwood and Lussier families for their generosity in providing this much needed repair and upgrade. We are so grateful.
Grades 3-5 Viral Testing
Yesterday and today each student in grades 3-5 received their first viral test kit. Please be sure to register your child’s kit using the online form found on the WPS homepage and return your child’s sample on Monday, March 29 or Tuesday, March 30. Your child’s second test kit will go home Monday or Tuesday and should be returned on April 5. Test kits need to be registered each week. It may be helpful to view the short instructional video that teachers shared with students in school. The video, as well as the recording of the viral testing webinar for parents and webinar presentation slides can be found on the WPS homepage.
Next Week’s Adjusted Schedule
As a reminder, in preparation for the return of all students on April 5 the calendar has been adjusted. Wednesday, March 31st will now be a regular half-day of remote learning for elementary school students. Thursday, April 1st will still be a regular Cohort A in-person day. This change only applies to the elementary schools. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we expand our reopening plan.
April 5 Full Return
If you were not able to attend the virtual principal coffee last week, please note that the PTO took detailed notes that capture our conversation. Those notes were included in last Sunday’s PTO blast. Starting next week students may see new furniture and seating arrangements in their classrooms as we prepare for April 5. We are very excited to welcome all students back five days a week.
