Dear Bates Community,

November brought us much cooler weather this week.  While we hope to eat outside as often as possible, we are also mindful of children’s comfort and some days are just too cold.  This week’s temperatures brought us indoors for a few lunches but fortunately offered beautiful weather for outdoor play.

Hopefully you’ve had the chance to meet with your child’s teacher for the fall parent teacher conference.  We greatly value these opportunities to meet with parents to learn more about your child and how we can work together to support your child’s progress in school.

In today’s WPS Covid-19 Update email, Dr. Lussier announced that WPS will host a vaccination clinic for students ages 5-11 after school on November 16 and 17 at the Sprague Elementary School.  The district will be sharing the registration link for these clinics with you soon.

For parents of children in grades 3-5, the 2022 MCAS testing schedule is now posted.  The April and May testing dates can be found at www.wellesleyps.org and also are linked here.  Make-up test dates will be scheduled as needed for students who are absent.

As a reminder, next week there is no school on Thursday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.  Also, Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, so it is time to turn our clocks back.

Finally, to those in our community celebrating Diwali, have a fun and festive Diwali!

Warm regards,

Toni Jolley
