Dear HunneBates,
Happy Friday! We enjoyed the sunshine and cooler temperatures at school today. What a great way to end the first full week of school.
A few highlights of our week include:
-
Kindergarteners started full days of school, which included eating lunch at school and attending all of their specials!
-
Winnie, the WPD’s community resource service dog, visited HunneBates on Tuesday along with Wellesley’s Safety Resource Officer, Kathy Poirier.
-
Students in grades 2-5 enjoyed attending an instrumental preview to learn about the options for learning to play a musical instrument in Wellesley. See the picture below. You can learn more about Wellesley’s Instrumental and Vocal Extension Program here.
Back to School Night: New Family Style
Next week we are excited to try a new format for our HunneBates Back to School Night on Thursday, September 21. The new format will be an open house event for the whole family. Our goal is to allow our students to introduce their teachers to you and show you all of the spaces they love at Bates. We invite families to visit from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. All teachers will be in their spaces. We ask that you please travel around the building as a family. You can visit classrooms in any order. Also, please be sure to stop by to see the PTO near the front entrance. We look forward to hearing your feedback on this new Back to School Night format.
I hope you have a nice weekend. For those families celebrating Rosh Hashanah, Shana Tovah or have a good year!
All the best,
Toni
