Dear Bates,

Here we are in the final week of school! Tomorrow’s Fond Farewell ceremony for our fifth graders and our Clap Out at noon on Thursday are two of our favorite end of year traditions.  All families are welcome to join the Clap Out.  Please arrive several minutes before 12:00 in order to line the front walk and cheer loudly for our fifth graders as they leave Bates for the last time.  Students in grades K-4 will be dismissed shortly thereafter from their usual dismissal locations.

As we end this school year, we will also say farewell to several members of our faculty and staff who are moving on to new opportunities: music teacher Rianne Gibson, art teachers Maria Terentieva and Sarah Kess, secretary Megan LeBlanc, math specialist Danielle Silverman and first grade teacher Laura Kelly.  We are grateful for all they’ve given to our students and our community and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

As we look ahead to 2024-2025 we will welcome several Wellesley educators and new hires to Bates.  Information about these hires and grade level teacher assignments for 2024-2025 will be shared in the coming weeks.

I would like to thank the Bates faculty and staff and all our Bates families for a wonderful year.  I am grateful for our partnership and all of the many ways we work together to nurture and support our community of young learners.  To our families moving to new schools next year, we wish you all the very best.

As a reminder, final report cards will be available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal at 3:00 on Thursday.  I wish all of our students and families a wonderful summer.

Warmly,

Toni
