Dear Bates,

I hope you had a nice weekend.  We were excited to receive the news that Bates was again named by Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as a School of Recognition for our 2024 MCAS results.  I am very proud of our students and the Bates faculty and staff for their ongoing hard work.

This past Thursday several Bates families joined the Zoom call with two School Committee members, Linda Chow and Niki Ofenloch, Superintendent David Lussier and me.  We are always open to feedback and questions from our families, and I look forward to the opportunity for conversation at my Principal’s Coffee on October 31.  I will share information about our school safety efforts and invite questions and conversation on other topics as well.  While we will meet in person, I plan to offer a Zoom option as well.

As a reminder, we have no school on Thursday in observance of Rosh Hashanah.  For those celebrating Rosh Hashanah, I wish you a Happy New Year!

Warmly,

Toni Jolley
