Dear Bates,
We had another wonderful Community Meeting this week. Our community sang “We Shall Overcome” as a way to recognize the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We also heard presentations from our fifth grade student council about their latest initiatives. Our fifth grade leaders shared ways to be more safe at recess and ideas for improving school lunches. They advocated for the creation of a special blue Tux Ticket and the introduction of a kickball game between the fifth graders and staff, to be played on the morning of Field Day. We are incredibly proud to witness our students’ passion and hard work as they develop their ideas and share them with our community. Please mark your calendars for kickball and Field Day on Friday, June 6.
At the Community Meeting students also learned about the upcoming Artstravaganza. My email on January 16 shared information about this school wide event to be held on Wednesday, February 12. We encourage students to ask any questions they may have at school. Please read the Artstravaganza Guidelines and use this form to sign up. We encourage families to attend. Thank you for your help to make this a successful event.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Warmly,
Toni Jolley
