Dear Bates,
As we enter the final quarter of the school year, we’re excited to celebrate several of our beloved Bates traditions, including the Bates Mini-Marathon on April 16. Families are invited to join us and cheer on their students, who will run at the following times:

Playground Updates at Bates
I am thrilled to announce that a new front playground will be installed at Bates this spring! In addition, the swings and climbing wall on the back playground will be updated. The construction period is expected to last approximately four weeks, and during this time, we will need to adjust some of our procedures for arrival, dismissal, and recess.
Starting Monday, April 7, we will implement the following changes:
-
Kindergarten and Grade 1 students will gather for arrival on the side courtyard.
-
KCam students will be dismissed from the side exit door.
-
Kindergarten will use the back playground for recess.
All other school procedures will remain the same. We appreciate your patience during this exciting project and look forward to announcing the grand opening of our new playground once it is completed!
No School on Monday in Recognition of Eid al-Fitr
As a reminder, school will be closed on Monday in honor of Eid al-Fitr, marking one of several school holidays this academic year in recognition of religious & cultural observances. Many families in our community observe Eid al-Fitr, one of Islam’s two canonical festivals. It marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting. Eid Mubarak to those in our community celebrating Eid!
Finally, please note that Tuesday, April 1 is an early dismissal day for students for parent teacher conferences.
Warmly,
Toni
