Dear Bates Families,

Next Friday, June 6, Wellesley High School will hold its graduation ceremony, a special milestone for our community.  This year, WHS administrators partnered with the elementary schools to establish a new tradition: a school-wide clap out for graduating seniors at each of their former elementary schools.  We are excited to welcome back and celebrate our former Bates students as they return in their caps and gowns next Friday.  I share this with you in case your children mention it.  We hope it will be a meaningful and inspiring moment for all.

We are excited to share that starting on Tuesday, students in grades 2–5 will have expanded opportunities to move and play during the morning arrival period.  All students in grades 2–5 will have full access to the back playground structure, and students in grade 5 will also be able to use the field.  To keep everyone safe and make the most of this time, we’ll remind students to follow the same rules they use during recess.  As a reminder, students are supervised by Bates staff beginning at 8:15 a.m.

Finally, a reminder that all donations for the Friends of Wellesley METCO, raised as part of the Bates Mini-Marathon, are due to the Bates office by Monday, June 2. Thank you for your generous support of this important cause!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Warmly,

Toni Jolley
