Dear Bates,
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting one another, our staff and our students through a very difficult week. As parents and educators, we mourn the senseless loss of so many young lives and witness the unthinkable grief experienced by the families and community members in Uvalde. We also think of our children and our schools.
As described in the Superintendent’s email message on Friday, the Wellesley Schools have invested considerable resources in our building security and training for faculty, staff and students. In addition, we work together to continually attend to and improve our security protocols. We do this while always working to make school feel welcoming and safe for students.
Parent teacher communication is especially important at this time. Please don’t hesitate to share if your child is worried or if you have questions or concerns. It is always helpful for us to know the conversations you are having at home that are related to school so we can work together to support our students.
I hope you are able to find time to relax and enjoy the long weekend with your families.
Warmly,
Toni
