Dear Bates Families,

As we move through January, we celebrate our students working hard each and every day. Many of our students are currently honing their skills as persuasive writers, and I love to see how eagerly they embrace this opportunity to make their voices heard on topics important to them. Our students have become so skillful in presenting their opinions and reasons, elaborating with examples and mini-stories, that we sometimes find ourselves changing a rule, extending a privilege, or adding something new to Bates!

Enjoy the long weekend with your families. There is no school on Monday as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
