Dear Parents,
The Bates Mini-Marathon is next Thursday, April 14. Thank you to all who have volunteered to help make this day a success. If you are not able to volunteer, please consider cheering from the sidelines if possible. If you are coming to the Mini-Marathon, please be aware that the parking lot will be closed between 9:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
All runners and family members are invited to our annual Spaghetti Dinner next Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. If you would like to attend the Spaghetti Dinner, please make sure to purchase your tickets by Monday here. Also, this year we are selling Bates Mini-Marathon t-shirts for $12. They will be on sale after school Friday and Tuesday and at the Spaghetti Dinner Wednesday evening. Each t-shirt purchase includes a $2 donation to Friends of Wellesley METCO.
During the school year, students participate in several state mandated annual screenings with the school nurse. Each fall all students participate in a vision screening, and students in kindergarten through grade 3 participate in a hearing screening. Schools are also required by law to obtain height and weight information on all students in grades 1 and 4. After obtaining your child’s height and weight, your child’s BMI (Body Mass Index) is calculated. If interested, please contact the school nurse, Chris Spolidoro, to obtain a copy of your child’s BMI.
Please mark your calendars for Bates in Bloom, which will be held on Thursday, April 28 from 8:30 – 9:15 a.m. This is a special time to visit your child’s classroom to celebrate your child’s work. We hope you will be able to join us.
Warm regards,
Toni Jolley
