The School Council is made up of three parents, two teachers, a community member and the principal. Members serve a two-year term.
The main areas of responsibility for School Councils, as mandated by the Education Reform Act of 1993, are to assist the building principal in:
- Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
- Identifying the educational needs of our students
- Reviewing the annual school building budget
- Formulating a school improvement plan
In addition, the School Council is an opportunity for parents, teachers and community members to feel united and collaboratively explore issues related to the district’s initiatives, the home-school relationship, student safety and school climate.
The School Council meets monthly from 3:15 – 4:15 pm, dates TBD.
