Every great adventure begins with a spark of curiosity and the courage to explore the unknown. At Hunnewell, we believe education is the most rewarding adventure. Just as adventurers prepare for their journeys with the right tools and companions, we are committed to providing your children with the support, resources, and guidance they need to navigate the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead. An adventure requires careful planning and preparation. Our dedicated teachers have spent the summer preparing for the upcoming year. Our custodians have spent the summer ensuring our school environment is safe, welcoming, and conducive to exploration and growth. Thank you, Kristyn Chin (Awesome School Secretary), for providing guidance every step of the way.
The essence of any adventure is exploration. This year, we encourage our students to ask questions, seek out new knowledge, and embrace the joy of discovery. Every classroom at Hunnewell will be a place where curiosity leads to exciting discoveries. No adventure is without its challenges. As we navigate the school year, there will be obstacles and problems to solve. We are committed to fostering resilience and perseverance in our students, helping them to develop the skills and mindset needed to face challenges head-on and emerge stronger.
Adventurers thrive when they work together and support one another. We are a community of learners, parents, teachers, and staff who collaborate and care for one another. We value the unique contributions of every member of our community and believe that our collective strength will make this year’s adventure truly remarkable. Throughout the adventure, there will be many milestones to celebrate. From the first day of school to the end-of-year achievements, we will recognize and celebrate our students’ growth and accomplishments. These moments of celebration remind us of the progress made and the exciting path ahead.
As we set off on this Great Adventure, we invite you to join us in supporting and encouraging each other. Your involvement and enthusiasm are crucial to our success. Together, we can make this school year an unforgettable journey of learning, growth, and joy.

9:00-9:30- Hunnewell New Families Only Meeting (School Insider’s Guide)
2:00-3:00- Classroom Visits ( this is an opportunity to see the classroom and not a time to conference with teachers)
3:00-4:00- Popsicle Party provided by the PTO

8:20-8:30- Teachers will have classroom signs for K-5 to line up at the south end of the building near the playground.
8:30- Bell Rings, and students enter the building with the classroom (sorry, parents are not allowed at this time)
8:35- Late Bell
8:30-9:15- Coffee and Cry ( parents or anyone who wants to come and cry or rejoice!)
8:35-12:00- 1st Day of School- YAHOO!!!
12:00- Dismissal

POWERSCHOOL PORTAL
The PowerSchool Parent Portal will be open from August 14 at noon through September 4, 2024. All parents/caregivers must log in during this time to confirm this important information for each of their children. Home Room information for Grades K-8 will be available. Grade 9-12 schedules will be available on August 21, 2024. As in prior years, you will not receive a class list due to security and privacy laws (see MGL 603 CMR 23.00 for more information).
