Dear Hunnewell Parents,

As we navigate the busy rhythms of school and life, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on something that often gets lost in the rush: the importance of our time and how we spend it. I recently rediscovered an old song, Life Means So Much, and it reminded me of the preciousness of every moment we have with our children and each other and the impact we can make in even the smallest gestures. Our lives are but a vapor… a moment in time. The song begins:

Every day is a journal page
Every man holds a quill and ink
And there’s plenty of room for writing in
All we do and believe and think

So, will you compose a curse
Or will today bring the blessings?
Fill the page with rhyming verse
Or some random sketching

As parents, we have a unique opportunity to model this for our children. The simple moments—whether it’s a shared conversation, a quiet evening together, or encouraging words before school—often stay with them for a lifetime.

Every day is a bank account
And time is our currency
So no one’s rich, nobody’s poor
We get twenty-four hours each

So how are you gonna spend
Will you invest or squander
Try to get ahead
Or help someone who’s under

Please, let’s help each other work on cherishing each day, making the most of our moments, and nurturing our children in ways that show them that their lives, too, mean so much. Every smile, every hug, and every bit of time we give them adds up to something far greater than we can imagine.

Every day is a gift you’ve been given
Make the most of the time every minute you’re living
Every day is a gift you’ve been given
Make the most of the time every minute you’re living

Thank you for all you do to support Hunnewell.

Dare to Dream,

Mr. Dees

Arrival and Dismissal

There has been some confusion around parking during pickup & dropoff times. Here are some clarifications:

Cameron St. Commuter Lot:

Wellesley Police has confirmed that their parking enforcement attendants will not ticket the Parking Lot during pickup & dropoff times (15 min before & after).  If you do mistakenly get a ticket during the 30 minute window please contact the Parking Office to get it dismissed.

Cameron St:

Please avoid parking anywhere on Cameron St. during pick up as it tends to block both car line and traffic flow.

Hampden Street:

Parking is allowed on the north side, which is the side closest to Hunnewell.

Brook Street:

Parking is allowed on the east side only (between Hampden Street and the Methodist Church). Avoid parking too close to the crosswalk as it makes it hard for children to see and be seen.

Town Library Lot:

Parking allowed only in the mornings until 9am.
