Dear Hunnewell Families,

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today, our hearts are full, and our smiles are bright thanks to the joy your children bring to our school. We had some fun this morning learning from our KL students that there are “No smooches allowed… except for Mom!” — Sorry, Dads!

On a fun note—did you know that Mrs. McGrath is secretly a fantastic hip-hop dancer? When she (hopefully NEVER) retires from teaching, she could try out for America’s Got Talent—and win! Floor Lords (a. teaching dance troupe) was here today! They helped us understand how important dancing and music are to our well-being. Simply…it’s fun!

As our Great Adventure reaches a little rest stop, I encourage you all to take a well-deserved break. If you’re traveling, please stay safe, and if you’re sticking around Wellesley, please stay safe. Most of all, I hope you find time to relax and enjoy these special moments with your loved ones.

Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us each day and for your ongoing commitment and partnership in our common goal of making Hunnewell a place of learning for all.

As we move forward, let hope guide your steps—hope for every child’s future, for the difference you continue to make, and for the endless possibilities ahead.

One of my favorite movies, The Shawshank Redemption, offers a powerful reminder: “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” May our shared hope continue to light the path for every child, every day.

Dare to Dream,

 Mr. Dees
