Dear P.A.W.S. Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to school after vacation week! Friday we welcomed guest readers from across the district to help the children celebrate Read Across America Day! This is the day we celebrate reading and literacy in honor of the March 2nd birthday of children’s author, Dr. Seuss!
We are grateful to our guest readers, who came to share their love of reading! We will have a few more special guest readers from town visiting us on Monday and Tuesday next week as well!
Perhaps you will enjoy some Green Eggs and Ham, this weekend, or snuggle up with a few good books and share the joy of reading with your child! To share a favorite quote from Dr. Seuss, “You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book, and read to a child!”
Kindergarten Round Up Rescheduled:
March is here and it looks like it will be coming in like a lion with the impending snow storm predicted for later tonight and tomorrow morning! The Kindergarten Round Up scheduled for the morning has been postponed until next Saturday, March 9th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Sprague School.

P.A.W.S. Summer Sessions Update
In the past, an invitation has been extended to students throughout the preschool to attend the P.A.W.S. summer program. This year the P.A.W.S. summer program will only be open and available to students who qualify for the Extended Year Services (EYS) through their Individual Educational Programs (IEP) as discussed through the TEAM process. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Coffee and Tea with ‘Becca
This month join me for coffee and conversation with my special guest speaker, Susan Basta, P.A.W.S. Speech and Language Pathologist, to learn what your cell phone, your vacuum, and the grocery store all have in common! During this talk, you will learn how to use everyday-items to increase your child’s vocabulary, language, and communication skills! Wellesley STEM Expo
I recently attended a meeting where I learned about the Wellesley STEM Expo! There will be a robot dog and a glass piano you can see the inside of while it is being played! You will also be able to learn about native bees, electric cars, walk inside a life size whale, play in the Augmented Reality Sandbox, and visit the robot zoo! This event is being held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Wellesley High School between 10-2, with activities and exhibits for families to enjoy!
I plan to attend the STEM Expo with my daughter and hope to see friends from P.A.W.S. enjoying the special events there, too!
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Thank you to all who have donated new and gently used books to our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten book collection! Thank you to the Rana Family for storing the hundreds of donated books for us, until we are ready to sort them into the 100+ book bags, to be filled with 10 books each! We will continue to collect books until April Vacation. I hope that by then, we will be close to our goal of collecting at least 1,000 books!
