Dear P.A.W.S. Families,
As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, I would like to take a moment to thank our wonderful families at P.A.W.S. for your generous spirit and for a wonderful start to this incredible 2020 school year! There have been several changes and adjustments we have all needed to make, and you have all done so with grace and a positive attitude. Your kind words, notes, cooperation, and appreciation goes a long way in helping us to all bring our best to our work and to be successful together. I am so thankful and grateful for you all.
I would also like to recognize and thank the P.A.W.S. faculty and staff who have been working tirelessly to ensure their classroom learning environments are inviting, fun, and safe spaces for all of the children! I am thankful for their ongoing innovation, creativity, and for the joy and love they bring to teaching their students, and to the staff who keep the school running smoothly.
We are grateful to be able to be in school together each day and hope that everyone follows all of the safety regulations and suggestions. If you are traveling outside of Massachusetts please follow the Massachusetts Travel Order when returning to the state. The order requires that you quarantine for 14 days unless you:
- are coming from a lower-risk state or
- can produce, on request, proof of negative test result for COVID-19 from a test administered on a sample taken not longer than 72 hours before your arrival in Massachusetts, or
- meet exemption criteria.
For additional holiday safety suggestions, visit the web page created by our fabulous WPS Nursing team.
Just in case there is an unexpected change in plans and we need to move to a remote setting for a while, as a preventative measure the teachers have been preparing sets of learning tools to send home. Should we end up going remote at any point during the school year, we want to be prepared. The items will be sent home over the next few weeks and are sent home “Just In Case” they may be needed and are only to be used in the event that we need to go remote. The items should only be used when assigned by your child’s teacher. Please keep your child’s “Just In Case” materials in a safe place until directed by the teacher to use them. We hope we will not need to use these supplies, but please keep them at home just in case. If you have any questions, as always, you can reach me at zieminskir@wellesleyps.org.
I wish you and your family a safe, healthy, and peaceful holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving!
